More than 9 decades back, this little shop at Bazar Gate Street was flagged off by Mr.Shamji to cater to the tailoring needs of the Parsi Zoroastrian community by stitching their exclusive sacred gear. A true Parsi steeped in religion and tradition will always wear the traditional Parsi Dagli on auspicious occasions like Lagan, Navjotes and other religion ceremonies. Besides, there's Navar Wagha, Badion, Eejar, Sadras, Lenghas, Dasturji's White Topi & Jama's and also shirts, pants and safari suits.

In the early 19th century, a lot of Parsis inhabited the Fort area, as six fire temples within its vicinity still stand tall. D.Shamji & Co. is the one and only shop famous with the community members who throng here for all their traditional needs in Parsi attire. Three generations down the line, the shop is now ably and efficiently managed by shamji's grandson Mr. Bhupendra Dullabhji Gohil who carries on the same tradition as his illustrious grandfather but going a step ahead, using modern technology having his own website. Parsi icons like Shapoorji Pallonji, Godrej, Film Personalities, Prominent Industrialist, Famous Architects & Musician families have all along patronized this shop.
